The beginning…
Started playing at school in Pollachi (Tamil Nadu) with the Red Star Volleyball Club. My height was the reason that the seniors at the club got me to join them. I went for a month-long summer camp, and when in class XI I attended the trials for Tiruchi Sports Hostel and got selected. In class XII, I got selected for Junior Nationals and the following year I joined college at St Joseph, Trichy.

The turning point…
Joining Indian Overseas Bank in 2004 on sports quota. They have always been supportive and encouraging.

Coach Kalaiselvan, who played a key role in shaping my career through school and college.

Achievements…
Participating in the Youth World Championship in 2004. My first time with Senior India in 2007 at the Central Asia Cup in Pakistan and we won the gold medal. Silver in the 2007 Commonwealth Championship. Playing in the Asian Championship in 2007 and the 2010 Rashid Memorial.

On Pro Volleyball League…
Excited to be playing for my home franchise. The PVL promises to be a boon to the players at multiple levels. While it encourages youngsters to breakthrough quickly, the seniors will be keen to maintain fitness to be a part of the PVL for long.
