A late starter, I only began playing at 16. It was after two famous Latvian National players visited our school. Noticing my height, they asked me to enrol to the school volleyball team.

Joining the National Sports School subsequently, it was a big step forward.

That would be my parents, they helped me develop a professional attitude and yet retain my amateur spirit.

Representing my country in volleyball where I have played in two separate positions. I also featured in beach volleyball in the 2012 Olympic Games.

Undoubtedly playing in the 2012 Olympic Games beach volleyball and beating Poland in our first outing. The other would be winning silver in World Tour beach volleyball.

I’m really excited to be a part of it and witness the quality of competition first hand. I’m sure it’s going to be a great journey.
