The beginning…
I took up the sport in my village in Tuticorin, and observing my interest by grandfather enrolled me to the Tirunelveli Sports Hostel when I was in class 8. My coach there was Chendur Pandian, who was also coaching our National teams. I represented Tamil Nadu age-group for the first time in class X and played Junior Nationals in class 12.
In 2007 I was selected to the Senior Tamil Nadu team, the same year I was picked in the Indian team for the Youth World Championship in Mexico. Thereon, from 2008 until 2016 I represented the Indian team and from 2007 until this year the Senior Tamil Nadu team. Played in the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014 and Senior Asian Championship in 2009, 2011 and 2013, SAF Games and several other international invitation tournaments.
Most memorable moment…
That would be the Best Server and Receiver award at the 2009 Junior World Championship.
On Pro Volleyball League…
It’s an exciting period for Indian volleyball. It provides a great platform for youngsters to showcase their skills.
